Privacy policy

We keep as little of your data as we can and we do not pass it to anyone who wants to sell you something. This page says exactly what happens.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Saal Vier Veranstaltungssaal GbR, Speckestraße 12, 44357 Dortmund, telephone +49 231 944 82 10, email hallo@saal-vier.de.

We have not appointed a data protection officer because we are not required to do so under § 38 BDSG. Ralf Ostermann answers data protection questions personally at the address above.

2. Server log files

Our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the request and the IP address in shortened form.

This data is not merged with other data sources. It is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the technically error-free presentation and security of this website. Log files are deleted after seven days at the latest.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place, and transfers to the USA take place on the basis of the EU standard contractual clauses together with the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

4. The enquiry form

If you send us an enquiry through the form, we process the name, email address, telephone number if given, the date and headcount you name and the free text of your message, in order to answer you. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and, for the optional telephone number, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (your consent).

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted twelve months after the last contact. Enquiries that lead to a booking are kept for the statutory commercial and tax retention periods of six and ten years respectively (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO).

5. Cookies

This site sets two strictly necessary cookies: one to remember the language you selected, and one to remember that you have seen the cookie notice. Both are set on the basis of § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR and expire after twelve months.

We use no analytics, no advertising cookies, no pixels and no third-party fonts. The Google Fonts used on this site are served from our own server, so no request reaches Google when you visit.

6. Map

The location map is not loaded until you press the button on it. Once you do, your IP address is transmitted to OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge CB4 0WS, United Kingdom, on the basis of your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

7. Your rights

You have the right to information (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.

8. Encryption

This site uses TLS encryption for every connection. You can recognise it by the padlock in your browser's address bar and by the https:// prefix.
